He plays goalkeeper for the Blackburn Rovers in the EPL... has also played in goal for the US National team... has numerous international appearances including World Cup and the Olympics... but perhaps Brad Friedel's greatest legacy will be the creation of the Premier Soccer Academies.
Based in Lorain, Ohio, the Premier Soccer Academies is the first of its kind residential soccer academy to offer full scholarships to all athletes in an effort to develop the next generation of professional soccer players. Top players from across the globe, ages 12-18, will be recruited based on ability and skill level, not ability to pay. Selected players will be given a once in a lifetime opportunity to receive a first-class education and fulfill 100% of their soccer potential in a setting structured in line with professional team training camps abroad and U.S. National Team experiences. PSA has a dedicated staff of top professional coaches and teachers for the August - June residency. The brand new, $10 million project is state-of-the-art and includes 3.5 soccer fields, workout facilities, student housing and academic classrooms.
Brad, who has contributed a great deal of his own money and significant time to bring this to fruition, views PSA as his way of giving back to the sport that has given him so much. We couldn't be more excited to have Premier Soccer Academies and Brad Friedel join the Soccer Stop team!
